Safe@UCA is the official safety app of the University of Central Arkansas, designed to connect students, faculty and staff directly with campus security and emergency resources. The Safe@UCA app integrates with the university's safety systems to deliver real-time alerts, provide quick access to emergency contacts, and enable direct communication with safety staff so the campus community can respond more quickly during incidents.
Mobile Bluelight lets users send their location to University of Central Arkansas security in real time during a crisis. Friend Walk allows someone to monitor a user's route so a friend can watch a walk home or other trip. Emergency Contacts provides one-tap access to the appropriate campus services for emergencies or non-emergency concerns. Tip Reporting supports submitting safety or security tips to campus authorities through multiple reporting options. Safety Notifications deliver instant alerts and instructions when on-campus incidents occur. Live Chat and Emergency Plans enable communication with safety staff and provide step-by-step guidance for different emergency scenarios.
Direct integration with University of Central Arkansas safety systems provides authoritative alerts and guidance. Multiple tools in a single app reduce the time it takes to contact help or report concerns. Real-time location sharing through Mobile Bluelight and Friend Walk adds an extra layer of situational awareness. Centralized emergency plans and campus resources make it easier to know what actions to take during incidents.
The app is primarily intended for the University of Central Arkansas community, so usefulness off campus may be limited. Full functionality requires device permissions such as location, notifications and chat to work as designed. Some features depend on cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity, which may reduce effectiveness in areas with poor signal.
Safe@UCA was developed in collaboration with the UCA Police Department as the university's official safety app, created to enhance on-campus safety and streamline communication between the campus community and security staff.
