Kodi

Kodi is a free, open-source media center that transforms your device into a flexible entertainment hub for videos, music, photos and podcasts, tailored for home theater setups and large-screen viewing. With a 10-foot user interface designed for remote control navigation, Kodi makes it easy to browse local files, optical discs, network shares and internet streams from a single interface. Users choose Kodi to centralize playback, customize the look with skins, and extend capabilities through add-ons while keeping full control over where their media comes from.

Development Team

Kodi is developed and maintained by a community-driven foundation that oversees the project and its trademark. The application is released as open-source software under GPLv2.0+ and includes a number of third-party libraries; because some included libraries use GPLv3 terms, the distributed binary is licensed accordingly. Community participation and contributions are encouraged to help evolve the platform.
